What Happened

Area authorities are investigating a crash that killed a man at I-40 in Wheeler County, TX on May 16th, 2023. Officials say the incident happened around midnight. Investigators believe a Dodge 3500 operated by 59-year-old Russell Mullican was headed eastbound on I-40 prior to veering from its lane for unknown reasons. They allege the truck traveled into a shoulder before colliding with the rear a semi-truck that was legally parked. The collision left Mullican with fatal injuries at the scene.
