What Happened

Area authorities are investigating a crash that killed two people at State Hwy 80 in San Marcos, TX on July 6th, 2023. Police say the incident happened around 8:02 p.m. According to investigators, a motorcycle operated by 27-year-old Alonzo Morning was headed northwest on Hwy 80. At the same time, a Ford Expedition operated by a 69-year-old San Marcos woman was attempting to perform a left turn onto River Rd. In the process, officials say the motorcycle collided with the Ford, the impact sending the Ford into a nearby Toyota Corolla. The crash left both Morning and 20-year-old passenger, Sarah Moreno, with fatal injuries. Reports indicate the occupants of the other vehicles all had possible, unconfirmed injuries. Authorities had no additional information available.
