What Happened

Beaumont Police have identified the person killed in a crash at Phelan Blvd in Beaumont, TX on August 12th, 2023. Police say the incident happened around 1:46 a.m. and named 39-year-old Sebastian C. Leith as the victim. Investigators say Leith was operating by an Acura MDX westbound at Phelan Blvd when it was struck by an SUV turning onto Calder Ave. The collision caused the Acura to overturn, ejecting Leigh from the vehicle, causing fatal injuries. The SUV is said to have fled the scene and police are currently searching for the driver.
