What Happened

Area authorities are investigating a crash that injured a man at Sam Rayburn Tollway in The Colony, TX on October 28th, 2023. Police say the incident happened around 6:47 a.m. According to investigators, an Infiniti QX80 was southwest on Sam Rayburn Tollway while a Toyota Corolla was sat disabled in 2 lanes ahead from a previous crash. Traveling southwest in a separate lane was a commercial truck Police say the Infiniti allegedly failed to control its speed before colliding with the Toyota before coming to rest in a shoulder. The impact caused the Toyota to spin clockwise where it was struck by the approaching commercial truck. The crash left the driver of the Toyota, 30-year-old Shailja Amin, with serious injuries, police say. The Infiniti operator had possible injuries, sources say.
