What Happened

State Police have identified the person killed in a collision on Preston Rd in Plano, TX on October 3rd, 2022. Police are saying it happened around 5:11 a.m. According to investigators, the crash involved a Volkswagen Taos operated by 23-year-old Summer Dodge, which was traveling southbound on Preston Rd. Police say the vehicle disregarded a red light as a Ford F-150 operated by 52-year-old Steven Green was crossing eastbound at the intersection with TX 121. The vehicles collided, causing the Ford to catch fire as Green still occupied the vehicle and was unable to escape. Green suffered fatal injuries while Dodge was hospitalized with serious injuries. Officers recommended and/or issued Intoxication Manslaughter charges.
