What Happened

Area authorities are investigating a crash that injured multiple people at I-35N in San Antonio, TX on August 19th, 2023. Police say the incident happened around 8:20 p.m. According to investigators, a Ford F-150 operated by a 42-year-old San Antonio man was allegedly attempting to pass another vehicle before losing control. The vehicle is believed to have veered from its lane in the process, colliding with a Toyota Tacoma operated by 68-year-old Suie Puig. The impact is said to have pushed the vehicle into a retaining wall while the Ford overturned. Following this, the San Antonio man is alleged to have fled the scene on-foot before later being located. Police allege the man was intoxicated and issued and/or recommended an Intoxication Assault charge. Police say both Puig and a passenger, 74-year-old Cipriano Puig were seriously injured in the crash. Additional information was not available.
