What Happened

Kansas Highway Patrol officials are investigating a crash that killed a teen at North Campus Dr in Garden City, KS on March 13th, 2023. Police say the incident happened around 4:15 p.m. According to investigators, semi-truck traveled westbound is believed to have veered left of center for unknown reasons. It then collided head-on with a Fiat 500 operated by a 16-year-old girl. The teen was taken to an area hospital with injuries she later died from. The truck driver, an unnamed 35-year-old Garden City man, was also hospitalized with minor injuries. Police have not shared additional information.
