What Happened

Area authorities are investigating a crash that injured three people at Hwy 36 in Burleson County, TX on January 9th, 2023. Police say the incident happened around 6:15 a.m. According to investigators, a Mercury sedan was allegedly attempting to go around a Mazda passenger vehicle but ran out of space to do so safely. As a result, the Mercury collided with the rear of an 18-wheeler, causing the 18-wheeler to overturn into a nearby ditch. The driver of the Mercury was hospitalized. Following hitting debris from the crash, the occupants of the Mazda were also hospitalized. The 18-wheeler operator is said to have been uninjured. Additional information was not provided.
