What Happened

Texas Department of Public Safety officials are investigating a crash that injured two people at FM 1053 in Pecos County, TX on March 14th, 2023. Police say the incident happened around 7:57 a.m. According to investigators, a commercial truck operated by an unidentified 31-year-old Odessa man was headed southbound behind a Ford F-250. The commercial truck is alleged to have failed to control its speed as the Ford slowed to turn into a public lot. It collided with the Ford, causing it to overturn and hit a private fence in a ditch. The commercial truck also overturned and hit a fence. The 51-year-old Fort Stockton man in the Ford was seriously injured in the crash. The Odessa man had less serious injuries and authorities recommended a Failure to Control Speed charge.
