What Happened

Area authorities are investigating a crash that injured two people at I-20 in Gregg County, TX on October 26th, 2023.  Police say the incident happened around 12:17 p.m. According to investigators, a Volkswagen Jetta was headed eastbound, approaching stopped traffic due to a crash ahead. Reports say, while attempting to stop, the vehicle lost control on the wet roads, sliding into a tractor-trailer. The crash left a 16-year-old Volkswagen passenger with suspected serious injuries and the 18-year-old driver with less serious injuries. The truck operator was not injured, police say.
