What Happened

Texas Department of Public Safety officials released the name of the worker killed in a crash on FM 429 in Kaufman County, TX on February 5th, 2019. A J&L Utility Service Company worker identified as 34-year-old Ulises Chavez was killed. Police say the accident occurred when a pickup truck lost control and crashed into a parked vehicle before hitting a culvert and going airborne. The truck then struck Chavez upon returning to the ground. The pickup truck driver suffered non-life-threatening injuries.
