What Happened

Area authorities identified the people killed in a crash at US 90 in Liberty County, TX on August 25th, 2022. Police say the incident happened around 12:23 p.m. According to investigators, a Dodge Avenger allegedly attempted to pass a Nissan Murano before both collided head-on. The occupants of the Avenger, 31-year-old Waymon Smith and 28-year-old Jaron Smith, both died in the crash. The Nissan driver, 52-year-old Kimberly Gary, was hospitalized with serious injuries.
