What Happened

Area authorities are investigating a crash that injured two people at I-20 in Ector County, TX on July 31st, 2023. Police say the incident happened around 10:16 a.m. According to investigators, a Dodge Ram 1500 operated by 60-year-old William Bedford was eastbound before performing a lane change  to pass another vehicle as two vehicles ahead were parked in an outside shoulder. The vehicle is said to have moved into an inside lane, forcing the Dodge to perform an evasive maneuver in order to avoid a collision. The Dodge lost control in the process, according to police, before striking a parked vehicle in the shoulder. Officials say Bedford and 53-year-old passenger, Edna Bedford, were seriously injured. No other injuries were reported. Additional information was not immediately available.
