What Happened

Area authorities are investigating a crash that killed a person at I-20 in Van Zandt County, TX on November 10th, 2022. Police say the incident happened around 6:09 a.m. According to investigators, a tractor-trailer operated by a 60-year-old Burleson man was heard westbound on I-20 in a right lane before veering into a shoulder. As it did, a pedestrian, identified as 53-year-old William Earl Roberson, was standing outside a disabled vehicle and struck by the truck as it attempted to return back to the road. A second passing truck also struck Roberson, who suffered fatal injuries at the scene. The Burleson man was not injured and officers recommended and/or issued a charge of Criminal Negligent Homicide.
