What Happened

Area authorities are investigating a crash that injured a woman at Piedras St in El Paso, TX on July 7th, 2023. Police say the incident happened around 4:31 p.m. Investigators believe a Toyota 4Runner operated by a 36-year-old driver who was not publicly identified was attempting to perform an improper left turn from an in correct lane prior to colliding with a woman crossing the road. Police say the woman, age 66 and not publicly identified, was in a marked crosswalk at the time and suffered suspected serious injuries in the collision. Police allege the Toyota operator was intoxicated at the time of the incident. Additional information was not available.
