What Happened

Authorities are investigating a crash that killed a woman at Sam Rayburn Tollway and Denton Tap Rd in Lewisville, TX on August 19th, 2023. Police say the incident happened around 12:25 a.m. According to investigators, a vehicle was disabled after striking a center barrier. While stopped partially in a lane of travel, the occupants of the vehicle are said to have exited the vehicle and were standing nearby. Police say an approaching pickup truck collided with the disabled vehicle as well as the occupants of the disabled vehicle. The driver of the disabled vehicle, a 21-year-old woman who was not publicly identified, was killed. The second occupant, an 18-year-old woman who also was not publicly identified, was hospitalized with serious injuries. The pickup truck operator had non-life-threatening injuries. Additional information was not immediately available.
