What Happened

Austin Police are investigating a crash that killed a person at North Lamar Blvd in Austin, TX on August 27th, 2023. Police say the incident happened around 3:43 a.m. Police say a Chevrolet Camaro traveling southbound on North Lamar Blvd allegedly veered into the northbound lanes before colliding with a Nissan Versa operated by 27-year-old Yasmin Galindo Macedo. Following the collision, police say the occupants of both vehicles were in the process of exiting the vehicles as a GMC Sierra approached. Officials say the GMC struck the Nissan before striking Macedo. Macedo suffered fatal injuries while a passenger from the Nissan, 26-year-old Jacqueline Galindo Macedo, had serious injuries, according to police. Police also say the Camaro operator was seriously injured while the GMC operator was not injured. Additional information was not available.
