What Happened

Area authorities are investigating a crash that killed four people at I-81 in Montgomery County, VA on May 30th, 2023. Police say the incident happened around 3:30 a.m. Investigators believe a Chevrolet SUV lost control while headed northbound and ended up spinning into the path of an approaching tractor-trailer. The vehicles collided and four people in the Chevrolet were killed. Police say the driver of the tractor-trailer was not injured and had no additional information to share.
