What Happened

West Virginia State Patrol officials are investigating a crash that killed one person at West Virginia Turnpike in Kanawha County, VA on April 28th, 2023. Police say the incident happened between a GMC truck, tractor-trailer and small passenger vehicle. Officials believe the tract0r-trailer crossed a barrier wall before colliding head-on with the GMC truck before striking the side of the smaller vehicle. The driver of the GMC, identified as 43-year-old Hans Robinson, suffered fatal injuries at the scene. Two passengers from the vehicle were hospitalized with non-life-threatening injuries. The driver and passengers in the smaller vehicle were hospitalized with non-life-threatening injuries as well. Additional information was not immediately available.
