What Happened

Virginia State Police have identified the person killed in a collision at Route 220 in Highland County, VA on September 7th, 2023. Police say the incident happened around 4:59 a.m. According to investigators, a northbound tractor-trailer is said to have been attempting a turnaround before becoming disabled in the road. Officials say the vehicle was blocking lanes of travel as a motorcycle operated by 33-year-old Sean William Weeks approached. Under  unclear circumstances, police say the motorcycle collided with the truck, leaving Weeks with fatal injuries at the scene. Additional details were not available.
