What Happened

State Police are investigating a crash that killed three people at I-90 near Easton, WA on March 16th, 2023. Police say the incident happened sometime around 1:45 a.m. Police say a semi-truck collided with a passenger car under unclear circumstances. Initial investigation suggests the westbound semi-truck may have crossed a median into eastbound traffic before colliding with the other vehicle. 40-year-old Justin Poole and 27-year-old Michaela Buckholt were both killed in the crash. Also killed was a 10-year-old child passenger. A second child passenger, age 6, as well as 36-year-old Nicole Wallawine Poole were both hospitalized with undisclosed injuries. The truck driver involved was not injured. Additional information was not available.
