What Happened

Washington State Patrol officials identified the driver killed in a crash at US 101 in Humptulips, WA on December 1st, 2023. Police say the incident left 76-year-old Richard Dowse with fatal injuries. Reports allege a Subaru Legacy operated by Dowse was stopped in a left turn lane as a log truck allegedly attempting passing on the left. In the process, reports say the truck struck the Subaru before overturning onto the car. While Dowse suffered fatal injuries, reports did not indicate the condition of the truck operator.
