What Happened

State Police are investigating a crash that led to a fatality at County Rd 217 in Lawrence County, AL on November 28th, 2021. Investigators are saying it happened around 7:29 p.m and involved a Ford Econoline van and Ford F-350. The van, operated by 54-year-old Bart Suggs, was attempting to avoid colliding with the F-350, operated by 35-year-old Adam Kelly. The F-350, meanwhile, was reportedly attempting to avoid hitting a GMC Sonoma that was disabled in a middle travel lane without any active lightning. When the vehicles collided, Suggs suffered serious injuries and was transported to an area hospital with injuries he died from. His passenger, Terri Suggs, was also hospitalized in undisclosed condition. Additional details were not available.
