Texas Department of Public Safety officials are investigating a crash that killed two men at I-459 in Birmingham, AL on April 5th, 2022. Police say the incident happened around 6:20 a.m. Investigators say an SUV collided with the rear of a tractor-trailer hauling lithium batteries that was stopped on the roadway due to a previous accident. The impact caused a fire that contributed to the SUV driver, identified as 33-year-old Edy Adaleberto Quich Osorio and his passenger, 52-year-old Victor Fabian Ventura, suffering fatal injuries.
