What Happened

State Police identified the person killed in a crash at Hwy 64 in Lauderdale County, AL on March 30th, 2023. Police say the incident happened when a Honda Pilot collided head-on with a tractor-trailer under unclear circumstances. The driver of the Honda, identified as 63-year-old Emma Wade, suffered fatal injuries. Five children in the vehicle were taken to an area hospital for treatment of various injuries. One of the children, age 1, later died from their injuries. The truck driver involved, 55-year-old Dennis Miller, was hospitalized with undisclosed injuries.
