What Happened

State Police have identified the two people killed in a multi-vehicle crash at I-65 in Autauga County, AL on December 1st, 2023. Police are saying it happened when a pickup truck collided head-on with a tractor-trailer operated by 62-year-old Alfred Giles. Reports indicate the tractor-trailer also collided with the rear of a second vehicle operated by 68-year-old Leander Robinson prior to the first collision. From there, officials say the truck crossed a median and collided head-on with a pickup truck occupied by 72-year-old Kevin Olson and 73-year-old Lilly Olson. Their vehicle was next struck in the rear by a second pickup truck operated by 75-year-old Steven Olbert. Both Olson occupants suffered fatal injuries in the incident. The conditions of the others involved was not shared. Additional information was not immediately available.
