Area authorities are investigating a crash that killed a person at US 72 in Madison County, AL on August 8th, 2021. Police say the incident happened around 3:35 a.m. A Jeep Compass operated by 35-year-old Rudy Perez was traveling on the wrong side of the highway when it collided head-on with a Ford Escape. Perez suffered fatal injuries at the scene. The other driver was hospitalized with undisclosed injuries.
