What Happened

Tucson Police are investigating a crash that killed a bicyclist at East 22nd St and South Pantano Pkwy in Tucson, AZ on July 26th, 2022. Police say the incident happened around 8:30 a.m. According to investigators, an electric-powered bicycle was traveling eastbound in a bike lane when it collided with a flatbed truck under unclear circumstances. The truck remained at the scene and the driver is said to have not been impaired. The bicyclist, identified as 17-year-old Adam Boehme was wearing a helmet at the time of the crash. Investigators believe the bicycle had been traveling against traffic at the time of the collision, which left Boehme with fatal injuries. Additional information was not immediately available.
