Arizona Department of Public Safety officials are investigating a collision that killed a pedestrian at I-17 near Black Canyon City, AZ on April 20th, 2022. Police say the incident happened around 12:28 a.m. According to reports, an unidentified male pedestrian was standing near a vehicle that was disabled in a travel lane. Believed to be the vehicle's driver, the man was pinned under the vehicle when it was struck from the rear by an oncoming tractor-trailer. He suffered fatal injuries at the scene. The driver of the tractor-trailer was hospitalized with minor injuries as was a passenger. Additional information was not immediately available.
