What Happened

Arkansas State Police are investigating a crash that killed one person at US 67 in Lonoke County, AR on September 29th, 2024. Police say the incident happened around 12:28 a.m. According to investigators, a semi-truck is said to have have collided with the rear of a Dodge Ram parked in a shoulder. The impact caused the fuel tank on the semi-truck to rupture, reports say, causing both vehicles to catch fire and the Dodge to overturn into a nearby ditch. Reports say a passenger in the Dodge, identified as 53-year-old Agueda Carrillo Mara, was fatally injured. Four additional occupants, including 35-year-old Miguel Angel Salas Carrillo, 54-year-old Jose Salas De La Cruz and 35-year-old Jarumit Lugo, all had undisclosed injuries. The condition of the semi operator was not stated. Additional information was not available.
