What Happened

State Police have information on the person killed in a collision on at Hwy 412 in Paragould, AR on October 29th, 2021. They are saying it occurred around 8:58 p.m. 44-year-old Eric Ward Abernathy was behind the wheel of a Toyota Prius that was approaching a westbound intersection for Hwy 358 and Hwy 412 as a tractor-trailer approached southbound. Investigators say the Prius proceeded into the stop intersection without yielding and entered into the path of the tractor-trailer. The two vehicles collided on the passenger side of the Prius and Abernathy suffered fatal injuries. No word on the condition of the truck driver was provided.
