What Happened

State Police are investigating a crash that killed a driver at State Hwy 87 in Independence County, AR on October 12th, 2022. Police say the incident happened around 1:20 p.m. According to investigators, a Honda operated by 41-year-old Vellum Kepfner was headed northbound Hwy 87 while attempting a left turn into a private driveway. As it turned, a tractor-trailer veered left of center and struck the Honda. The impact caused Kepfner fatal injuries. Additional information was not immediately available.
