What Happened

Springdale Police are investigating a crash that killed a woman at East Robinson Ave in Springdale, AR on August 18th, 2021. Police say the incident happened around 3:19 p.m. A Honda Odyssey minivan operated by 40-year-old Maria Ayala was headed west when it attempted a left turn on Butterfield Coach Rd. The van reportedly pulled into the path of a dump truck heading eastbound and the two collided. Ayala was transported to an area hospital with injuries that she died from. A 7-year-old child in the vehicle was hospitalized with undisclosed injuries. Additional information was not immediately available.
