What Happened

California Highway Patrol officials are investigating a crash that killed a child at Hwy 156 in Gilroy, CA on July 24th, 2021. Police say the incident happened around 1:20 p.m. A tractor-trailer operated by a 27-year-old Manteca man was headed west when traffic ahead began to slow. The truck then collided with the rear of a 2020 Toyota Corolla, which caused the Toyota to crash into a tractor-trailer trailer aead. An 11-month-old baby in the Toyota suffered fatal injuries. Three adults, including the driver and two passengers, were hospitalized with minor injuries.
