What Happened

California Highway Patrol officials are investigating a crash that killed a woman at I-15 near Adams Ave in San Diego, CA on March 4th, 2022. They say the incident happened around 2:20 a.m. A semi-truck is said to have lost control and its trailer became stuck blocking northbound travel lanes. An approaching Honda CR-V, operated by a 76-year-old woman, is said to have then collided with the trailer and became lodged underneath. The woman required emergency extrication and was taken to an area hospital where she was later pronounced dead of her injuries. The truck driver involved was not injured. Investigators say the roads were slick with rain at the time o the crash. Additional information was not available.
