California Highway Patrol officials are investigating a crash that killed a driver at I-680 near Alamo, CA on April 17th, 2025. Police say the incident happend around 1:35 p.m. Reports indicate a rear tire became detached from a Ford van headed northbound. The tire is said to have traveled over a center divider before crashing through a windshield of a southbound Toyota Tundra. Officials say the operator of the Toyota, a man who was not publicly identified, was fatally injured. Authorities did not have additional information available.
