Officials with the California Highway Patrol are investigating a crash that left four people dead at Route 99 in San Joaquin County, CA on March 31st, 2023. According to investigators, a Honda Accord traveling northbound struck the rear of a U-Haul truck under unclear circumstances. This collision happened around 12:25 a.m., according to authorities. The crash is believed to have caused the U-Haul truck to lost control, veering into the side of a tractor-trailer in the process. After performing a u-turn, the Honda then struck a Subaru Impreza. Three occupants of the Subaru died at the scene. A fourth person involved was hospitalized with serious injuries. Additional information was not available.
