What Happened

California Highway Patrol officials are investigating a crash that killed a person at Hwy 1 and Cypress Ave in Moss Beach, CA on September 28th, 2022. Police say the incident happened around 11:30 a.m. According to investigators, a box truck was traveling southbound on Hwy 1 when it allegedly drifted into a northbound lane. The truck struck a cyclist riding in the shoulder, leaving the cyclist, Harald Herrmann, with fatal injuries. The truck driver was hospitalized for treatment of minor injuries. Police did not confirm if the cycle involved was a bicycle or motorcycle.
