California Highway Patrol officials are investigating a crash that killed one person and injured four others at I-5 in Oceanside, CA on August 9th, 2023. Police say the incident happened around 8:58 p.m. According to investigators, a Chevrolet Corvette passing in a shoulder is said to have collided with a sedan that was parked there. The impact caused the sedan to collided with an oncoming 18-wheeler. A passenger in the sedan died at the scene. Four others were hospitalized with undisclosed injuries. Police allege suspicion of possible intoxication and say the Corvette operator, Edwin Vincent Hoffman, was arrested. Additional information was not available.
