What Happened

California Highway Patrol official are investigating a crash that killed one person at I-805 and 43rd St near National City, CA on April 29th, 2023. Police say the incident happened around 9:08 a.m. According to investigators, multiple vehicles were involved in a collision that occurred under unclear circumstances. Investigators are saying a work truck was headed southbound before colliding with a flat bed truck. Following the collision, the flatbed truck did not remain at the scene. The impact pushed the work truck from the road into a light pole. It traveled down an embankment, ejecting both occupants from the vehicle. One of the two occupants died at the scene while the other was hospitalized with life-threatening injuries. Additional details have not been made available.
