What Happened

California Highway Patrol officials are investigating a crash that killed two people at Hwy 126 in Ventura, CA on October 29th, 2021. Police say the incident happened around 10 p.m. A southbound Mitsubishi Montero operated by 33-year-old Ruben Hernandez reportedly collided with the left rear of an eastbound tractor-trailer. The tractor-trailer was turning left onto northbound lanes at the time of the collision and the Montero caught fire in the collision. Hernandez and  22-year-old passenger, Guillermo Hernandez Martinez, were killed in the collision. The truck driver reported no injuries.
