California Highway Patrol officials are investigating a crash that killed a man at Hwy 29 in Lake County, CA on August 7th, 2021. Police say the incident happened around 8:37 a.m. A commercial truck operated by 34-year-old Frederick Gibson II was headed north on Hwy 29 when it veered from the road it. It then went across both traffic lanes and collided with a pickup truck operated by 51-year-old William James Wight after the pickup truck attempted to avoid the collision. Wight suffered fatal injuries at the scene. Gibson was treated for minor injuries.
