What Happened

York County Sheriff's Department officials are investigating a crash that killed a man at Road 4 and Road J in McCool Junction, CO on December 14th, 2021. Officials say the incident happened around 5:48 p.m. A Kenwoth T300 and John Deere 44400 were reportedly both on westbound Route 4 when the collision happened. Investigators believe the Kenworth struck the John Deere from the rear and the tractor rolled into a north ditch. The tractor operated, identified as Cleon D. Schwartz, was ejected in the collision and suffered fatal injuries at the scene. The other driver was identified as Larry D Burton. Additional information was not available.
