What Happened

Area authorities are investigating a crash that killed a driver at State Hwy 160 in Mineral County, CO on September 21st, 2021. Police say the incident involved a Peterbilt tractor-trailer traveling at a high rate of speed losing control at a sharp curve and crashing into a cement barrier. The impact caused the truck to travel down an embankment and crash into multiple trees, ejecting the driver. The driver, identified as 54-year-old Rifat Podzic, died at the scene.
