What Happened

Connecticut State Police are investigating a crash that killed one person at I-395 in Putnam, CT on July 21st, 2023. Police believe the incident happened sometime around 4 a.m. and involved a pair of tractor-trailers and a passenger car. Initial investigation suggests a tractor-trailer lost control for unknown reasons before overturning. Shortly after, a passenger vehicle which stopped to avoid a collision with the overturned truck was struck from the rear by a second tractor-trailer. The conditions of those drivers was not revealed by authorities. Police say the driver of the first tractor-trailer, 56-year-old Archie Ray Miller, died at the scene.
