Newark Police are investigating a collision that killed a student and injured seven people at Main St and Haines St in Newark, DE on April 29th, 2025. Police say the incident happened around 4:30 p.m. According to reprots, a U-Haul van is alleged to have fled authorities before striking a marked patrol unit, two pedestrians and several parked vehicles. Authorities say one of the pedestrians, a University of Delaware student, was fatally injured. The other pedestrian was hospitalized with serious injuries while six others had less serious injuries.
