What Happened

Florida Highway Patrol officials are investigating a crash that killed three people at I-75 in Pasco County, FL on January 8th, 2022. Police say the incident happened as a semi-truck and SUV were headed southbound on I-75 around 10 p.m.. The semi-truck reportedly changed lanes and went into the path of an SUV before a collision occurred. The driver of the SUV and two passengers died at the scene. They were identified as family members, 53-year-old Danielle Prieto, her husband Alfred Prieto, age 57, and their 16-year-old son Antonio Prieto. Officials say all three were wearing seatbelts.
