Florida Highway Patrol officials are investigating a crash that killed two people at US Hwy 27 and Washington Ave in Lake Wales, FL on May 8th, 2023. Police say the incident happened around 2:51 a.m. According to investigators, a northbound Cadillac is alleged to have missed a red traffic light before colliding with a semi-truck at an intersection. The collision killed two occupants of the Cadillac, identified as 24-year-old Gary Faniel Jr and 23-year-old Javarcea Morton. The driver of the Cadillac was hospitalized with non-life-threatening injuries. The semi-truck driver was not injured, according to police.
