What Happened

Florida Highway Patrol officials are investigating a crash that killed a person at Alligator Alley in Collier County, FL on March 11th, 2022. Police say the incident happened when a flatbed truck hauling wood lost control around 5 a.m. The truck is said to have lost control at a curve and struck a guardrail before veering into a canal. A passenger in the truck was taken to an area hospital with injuries he later died from. The driver was hospitalized with serious injuries. Additional information was not immediately available.
