What Happened

Officials are investigating a collision that killed one person involved at I-95 in Melbourne, FL on December 11th, 2024. Police are saying the incident happend around 7:30 a.m. According to investigators, a semi-truck headed southbound on I-95 is alleged to have failed to stop for traffic ahead, colliding with the rear of a Hyundai Elantra. The impact is said to have caused both vehicles to cross into a guardrail, the Hyundai catching fire. Reprots say a chain reaction occurred involving several other vehicles, three individuals suffering minor injuries. The Hyundai operator, age 22, was fatally injured. Authorities did not have additional information available.
